Half-life accumulation & washout plotter
A teaching model of how repeated doses stack up and how long a drug lingers after the last one.
Simplified one-compartment model (instant absorption, first-order elimination). Real drugs have absorption phases and individual variation, and for growth-hormone secretagogues the biological effect does not track blood level. Use it to build intuition, not to plan dosing.
What it shows
- Accumulation: if the interval is shorter than a few half-lives, each dose lands on top of the leftover from earlier doses. The steady-state peak is 1 ÷ (1 − 0.5^(interval ÷ half-life)) times a single dose's peak.
- Washout: after the last dose, about 97% is cleared after 5 half-lives. "Cleared" refers to blood level, not necessarily to the disappearance of effects.
