Methodology & editorial standards
Evidence grades
Each peptide is labelled with the strongest tier of evidence that exists for it, not whether it works.
- FDA-approved: Approved by the FDA for at least one use, backed by large randomized trials.
- Human trials: Studied in controlled human trials, but not approved, or only for surrogate markers.
- Animal studies only: Evidence is almost entirely from animal models; human data is absent or anecdotal.
- Lab / cell studies only: Evidence is limited to cells or test-tube experiments.
Study summaries
Every summary states who was studied, how many, what was found and the limitations, and links to the PubMed record. Candidate studies are pulled from the PubMed API; a person writes each summary from the abstract or full text.
Legal status
US and Canadian status and WADA rules are checked against primary sources where possible and dated. Rules change, so check the date on each entry.
